We have choices every day about how we spend our money. Whether we have £10 or £10 million it is all about choices. We often compare ourselves to others or aspire to be like them. But how realistic is that penthouse apartment or that flashy sports car?

Imagine this; you are now in a job and it pays you £25,000 a year. Pretty exciting hey?! 

But what are you going to spend the money on? A new iPhone, a PlayStation, a nice car, designer clothes, a trip to Dubai, a big contribution to your favourite charity, an expensive gift for someone, somewhere nice to live?

The reality is, that there are a number of costs associated with our lifestyle, these could include;

Where we live:

Different parts of the country are more expensive. It will cost more to live in a detached house than it will to live in a flat. Sometimes living on the edge of a city costs less than living in the city centre.

Who we live with:

Sometimes we have a choice of living with our parents and family, or sharing a place with friends. If you choose to live on your own it will cost you more as you have to pay all the bills yourself!

Our social activities and hobbies:

Whether it's football, dance, music, art, gaming... you name it... our hobbies and activities cost money. A season ticket, a concert, buying art materials etc.
